About me
With over 20 years of experience specializing in product safety, Tica Bosch has dedicated a significant portion of her career to designing market surveillance projects, conducting analyses, and sampling consumer products. Her projects, often funded by business associations, aim to detect and communicate unsafe products to market surveillance authorities for further inspection. She has a deep expertise in toys, textiles, and children’s articles.
She has collaborated closely with the Textile Manufacturers' Association to uncover unfair practices, such as
inadequate labeling and fabric composition discrepancies. This involved collecting samples from various
channels and geographic areas, followed by rigorous laboratory analysis, culminating in comprehensive
reports detailing our findings.
Her focus on the textile industry extends to ensuring compliance with essential labeling regulations through
tailored market analyses and educational workshops for textile associations and manufacturers. She also
extracts valuable insights from a variety of data sources, guiding market surveillance activities and
improving consumer relations with authorities.
Furthermore, Tica possesses in-depth knowledge and understanding of managing consumer product crises,
alerts, and recalls. Working closely with companies and authorities, she has managed alerts and drafted
communications to consumers regarding unsafe products, drawing upon my postgraduate degree in
communication management to handle such situations successfully.
In terms of training and capacity building, Tica has provided guidance to consumer affairs agencies, NGOs,
and economic operators on best practices in consumer affairs, including consumer awareness-raising and
data management for policymaking. Similarly, she has conducted training sessions for market surveillance
agencies, NGOs, and economic operators on best practices and legal frameworks.
During her placement with the Catalonia Trade and Investment UK office in London as a Director, she led
several projects analyzing markets and needs. Her responsibilities included market analysis, supplier
research, pricing investigation, and benchmarking studies.
Additionally, Tica designed and managed the "Prevention Program of Involuntary Accidents," which
involved 10 children's hospitals reporting incidents attended in their emergency departments. These
reports focused on detecting dangerous products and injury trends, providing crucial information to target
authorities' actions and prioritize interventions for the most dangerous products already on the market.
