About me
Richard is responsible for both national and international regulatory collaboration at the Office for Product Safety and Standards in the UK. He established the UK’s national market surveillance authority for a range of product related sectors and has led the OPSS teams that produce product risk assessments, deliver the UK’s product control at the border, undertake business and product testing assessments. He has chaired expert product regulation groups at national and regional level and is currently a member of the UNCTAD product safety group and the UNECE market surveillance group. He has been a regulator for over 35 years in local and central government and worked at CPSC as part of their international fellowship programme and continues to draw regulators together from around the world to explore greater consistency, share best practice and understanding.
