About me
Priya Gopalakrishnan, Ph.D. is a product safety manager at Google LLC in Mountain View, California where she manages investigations of all safety escalations related to Pixel phones and Pixel buds. She works with cross functional hardware and software teams to identify, assess and mitigate safety risks throughout the product life cycle. Before joining Google, Dr. Gopalakrishnan held a position as Manager in the Thermal Sciences Practice at Exponent in Menlo Park, California. There she was the principal investigator and project manager for several product liability and recall investigations involving battery powered consumer electronics, automotive equipment and other consumer appliances. Outside of her work, Dr. Gopalakrishnan is passionate about STEM education and has worked with several bay area educational non-profits to mentor kids to be science detectives. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Aerospace engineering where her dissertation work was focused on fluid mechanics and combustion sciences.
