About me
Molly Lynyak is a manager in the Technical Committee Operations Division of ASTM International, one of the largest voluntary standards development organizations in the world.
In her role, Lynyak has direct responsibility for the standards development activities within Committee F15 on Consumer Products and Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action. By bringing together industry and manufacturers, consumers, testing labs and regulators, Lynyak manages the technical committee that addresses hazards for a range of consumer product areas such as toys, juvenile products, playgrounds, and furniture safety, amongst others. Many of these standards have been the basis for mandatory rules through incorporation by reference under the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) and have been used internationally. Lynyak also supports the important role Committee E50’s standards play in environmental site assessments, due diligence practices, real estate transactions and greener cleanups.
Prior to her work at ASTM, Lynyak worked as an advocate and leader in the New York City Criminal Justice System for underprivileged, court-involved youth and in Philadelphia coordinating child abusei investigations amongst law enforcement, child services and medical partners.
Lynyak earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wagner College. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, NY.
