About me
Linda Kaiser is a dedicated child safety advocate and founder of Parents for Window Blind Safety (PFWBS), a non-profit organization focused on preventing injuries and deaths caused by window blind cords. Her advocacy began after the tragic loss of her one-year-old daughter, Cheyenne, in a window blind cord strangulation accident in 2002. Determined to create change, Linda turned her grief into action, building a movement to save lives and support families.
Linda has developed impactful initiatives, including the “Lab Tested, Mom Approved®” seal of approval program, which allows manufacturers to have their products independently tested to meet rigorus safety criteria developed by safety experts . This program not only ensures top quality products but also helps parents identify safer window covering options. Linda also collaborates directly with manufacturers and retailers, encouraging innovation and the adoption of cordless and motorized blinds as safer alternatives.
Despite challenges like industry resistance and slow policy change, Linda has made significant progress. She worked with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to push for stricter standards, including the 2018 voluntary ban on certain corded blinds. Through public education, family support, and industry partnerships, Linda’s work continues to protect children and prevent future tragedies. Her vision is clear: safer homes and a world free from preventable accidents.
Through her work, Linda has gained expertise in marketing, advocacy, and public awareness campaigns. She recently launched her own digital marketing company, White Wave Media Works, where she applies her knowledge and passion to help businesses succeed. Despite the challenges she has faced, Linda’s commitment to child safety and her entrepreneurial spirit continue to inspire change and create a lasting impact.
