About me
Gretchen Salter has been a leading advocate in the environmental health movement since 2005. Drawing on her experience as an organizer in electoral politics, she has spearheaded successful campaigns across the country to eliminate toxic chemicals from consumer products, including phthalates, bisphenols and PFAS and improve ingredient transparency in cosmetics and cleaning products. Through her role at Safer States, Gretchen provides strategic and technical guidance to lawmakers and advocates on environmental policy. Gretchen has served as an advisor to California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control’s Pollution Prevention program and is currently serving on the Contra Costa County Hazardous Materials Commission.
